Description

Remend® Corneal Repair Gel aids in the management of superficial corneal ulcers in dogs and cats.* Based on innovative technology, Remend® Corneal Repair Gel uses cross-linked, modified hyaluronic acid (HA) to help support the natural healing process of superficial corneal ulcers on dogs and cats. It is not meant to be used in place of antibiotics or pain control. 

Remend® Corneal Repair Gel can be beneficial for your veterinary practice when a high concentration of HA is needed or desired for treatment of superficial corneal ulcers on dogs and cats.

CAUTION: Federal law restricts this product to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Remend® Corneal Repair Gel contains 0.75% hyasent-S modified, cross-linked HA can help support the natural wound-healing process and offers enhanced lubrication and hydration of the corneal surface.

What are the dosage and frequency guidelines for Remend® Corneal Repair Gel?

Remend® Corneal Repair Gel should be applied two to three times each day until corneal repair is complete. Place one to two drops directly onto the injured cornea.

What is hyaluronic acid (HA)?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring nonimmunogenic substance produced by the body with many roles and functions. It can help support the natural wound healing process, provide lubrication for joints and help with tissue hydration. It has been incorporated into many medical products and technologies for a variety of purposes, such as cosmetics, as well as skin, joint and eye health.

The HA found in Remend® Corneal Repair Gel has been modified and cross-linked. What does this mean?

The cross-linked HA found in Remend® provides a tissue scaffolding matrix that is conducive for corneal cell movement and migration over the defect. It helps support normal re-epithelization and aids the natural healing process.* It also provides enhanced lubrication and hydration of the corneal surface.

How does Remend® Corneal Repair Gel work?

The tissue scaffolding matrix that results from cross-linking HA creates an environment conducive to cell growth and migration during normal re-epithelialization.1*

Does Remend® Corneal Repair Gel have an expiration date?

Yes; the expiration date is on each bottle. Remend® Corneal Repair Gel should be stored at room temperature, away from a heat source. If stored in a refrigerator, the product should be allowed to warm to room temperature prior to use. The product should not be frozen.
